Assessment & Accountability

Assessment

Students in Mountainair Public Schools participate in the required state and federal assessments for Title I, Title II, and Title III. The state uses these assessments for accountability measures to meet the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements. The following assessments are administered.

  • NM Measures of Student Success & Achievement (NM-MSSA)

    • students in grades 3-8 for English Language Arts and Mathematics

  • SAT

    • students in grade 11 for English Language Arts and Mathematics

  • NM Assessment of Science Readiness (NM-ASR)

    • students in grades 5, 8, & 11 for Science

  • Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM)

    • only administered to the most significantly cognitively disabled students in grades 3-8 & 11 for English Language Arts, Mathematics, & Science

  • Istation

    • students in grades K-5 for Reading & early literacy skills

    • students in grades K-2 for Mathematics

  • ACCESS for English Language Learners

    • students in grades K-12 to measure English language proficiency

  • Dyslexia screener

    • students in Grade 1
